Blow drying my hair.
My hair routine consists of a simple regimen that I’ve been doing for years. I have decided on simply unveiling my secrets (not really secrets) because of the tons of request I get daily about what I use in my hair. I have tons of hair answers. As you know I’m a hair stylist and I love hair and love to add pieces in from time to time as an accessory. I also wear my hair accessories to promote my business because I’m a walking advertisement for myself. Weaves are a great accessory piece to enhance what you already have.
I get my hair done every two weeks. Every time I get my hair done I put a cellophane in my hair whether it be black or clear. I feel that I have to coat my hair since I use heat so often. Every six weeks I get a “Protein by Dudley’s” treatment or an Aphogee treatment. I use Matrix shampoo and conditioner, Alterna Shampoo and conditioner or Nexus Shampoo and conditioner…sometimes Sebastian. I am in love with this new conditioner called OMG (worth the splurge). I also use OMG’s leave in conditioner. Joico also has a great leave -in.
I feel that it is essential to switch up your shampoo to see the results because your hair gets immune to the products after continued use. When it’s close to the time for my hair to be redone, I’ll oil my scalp with Dr. Miracles gro oil. When I flat iron my hair I use a pinch of Sebastian Laminates gel (discontinued but you can find some online. I’m trying to find replacement) on the ends of each piece for protection against dryness and damage. I get a trim once every two months. When the months are colder I tend to get dandruff so I part my hair in sections and place a generous amount of cholesterol on my scalp until my scalp is covered then sit under the dryer for about 10 minutes.
Thats pretty much it! I’ll show you some simple tricks that I use to maintain my hair (second week) soon.Hope I helped! Have a great day:)
Skin care coming up next.
My hair without pieces…
Hair added to create volume to my hair, my #1 accessory.
Don’t forget these accesories are a great way to add some “bling bling” to your hair too.

You're hair is AMAZING and beautiful. Your hair accessories are undetectable. We have a similar regimine and product preference/list I hope my hair continues to grow and is as healthy as yours. I'm using weaves/accessories as my current protective styling.

What a great post! You have hair like a goddess! 🙂
I LOVE THIS POST.
Thank you for sharing. I find it amazing that we used a lot of the same products. When I was in high school, I would get my hair done at this Dominicans and they started putting cellophane color, or clear on my hair and it really makes your hair shine, without weighing it down by products.
My favorite conditioner right now is Alter Ego Garlic Conditioner. It makes your hair feel like silk. Every two weeks I treat my hair with it in between washes and I absolutely love it.
Love,
Grace
PS. Tanya thank you for inspiring me to blog. It is still a work in progress… amazeingrace.blogspot.com

Thanks for sharing!!! So cellophane makes your hair shine, I'll have to try it. I was using olive oil and other products that are suppose to make your hair shine but they weigh it down. Yours looks good and healthy.

That was dope Tanya! You are so honest and REAL to the bone! A lot of women would never have given their hair secrets and you showed it all…while looking GORGEOUS as always! You always give great tips, secrets, and advice that is genuine and from the heart even in your everyday life with friends..love you for that…and I'm taking notes on the products…forget it I'm just going to copy and paste the products and take it with me to the store lol!!
would you mind sharing what brand of hair you purchase? My last batch was wagmans but I felt it was a lil too silky for me. I was thinking about trying extensions plus next.
The cellophane is called Jazzing. You can purchase this at Sally's beauty supply. You wash your hair really clean then you apply the entire bottle to your hair from scalp to ends(try clear to start off with). Sit under the dryer for thirty minutes( I sleep with mines) then rinse, lighty shampoo and apply conditioner. Hope this helps.:)
@ Lexion- Let me know and I can get you the hair I use. E-mail me. As far as Alterna products I only like the yellow and orange bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Thanks for stopping by everyone…
WOW!!! gorgeous hair, I am so going to try this…Thanks for the tips Tanya!!!

Hey Tanya, My name is Tanya too!! I love your style and fashion. I wanted to know when you add your pieces do you sew them in or do you use the clips? I am natural too as well.
Love your blog! Wondering if you use clip ins and which ones you use. Thanks.
I make them myself. Thanks for visiting!
Love the colorshines or cellophanes by Sebastian!! I use ice when my hair gets too brassy and it literally works in waves! You can see it changing the color and demension right in front of your eyes! It works wonders for my hair and is the best toner I’ve ever used! I sleep with it in!! Lol!
