This weekend I was invited to a girls night out. It was hosted by my cousin. I needed to get out with the ladies and just laugh. Her friends welcomed me in with open arms as if it wasn’t the first time we’ve met. We ate jambalaya, chocolate covered strawberries, and played lots of games that I’ve never tried before. We had a ball! Although I missed my girls I needed this time to get away and just have fun.

When you are married with a family you have to learn to have balance. I’ve realized that even though you may want to be with your family all the time, it’s necessary to  take time for yourself as well as make time for the other great people in your life. It’s important not to forget about the people that have been there for you. So to me if you cannot balance your friends/family/significant other because in your world the only thing that is important to you is what makes you happy at that moment, then that is a big sign of immaturity. In every relationship there’s a difference. Some require more effort, some require less effort. It doesn’t mean that one is less important than the other. Value the special people in your life by showing them they matter.

It’s important to nurture all your relationships! That’s what helps you maintain all the balance you need in your life…from what I learned.

Tip of the day: The key to keeping your balance is knowing when you’ve lost it. Anonymous

Found this dress for a steal at one of the vintage stores I shop at. The detailing is just amazing.

  5. I definitely learned all about "the balance" in a difficult manner. I didn't realize that taking time to myself really mattered until I noticed how exhausted, moody, and irritable I'd be, so yes, this is very important!

  6. So true that balance is needed in our lives. I'm surprised you were allowed out of the house without hubby in that dress. Beautiful!
