Knowing your environment

environmentWhere I’m from there are certain things and standards that you learn to live by. Depending on the environment you were raised in there is a difference on the things you’ve picked up, but this doesn’t make one less significant than the other. I think there are things that the inner city can teach you that are priceless. I respected them enough to live by them.  Things are defiantly not the same by a long shot. I’m glad I was able to experience it.

Everyone doesn’t learn from their experiences nor do they try to improve their surroundings in view of the fact that they become a product of their environment. I really can’t blame them I’ve just have always been a dreamer. I’ve always been conscious of the way I grew up that’s why I make sure my kids have better than I did. I don’t want them to make the same mistakes. I make sure to teach them these things that only where I came from can teach you.

Tip of the day: I consider myself blessed to know both sides of the coin…

  1. This is indeed so true…!! The hood can teach you ways to survive and a suburban area can teach you how to live, and they are extremely important values.

Those shoes… are to die for!!!! And go perfect with your jeggins

  2. I definitely consider it to be a privilege to experience both worlds. I was born in Newark, NJ and lived there until my teenages years and then I was able to travel around the world. I know live in Montgomery, AL. I will never forget where I came from but the lifestyle and surroundings make me so thankful and blessed to be where I am today.

I would just like to say Thank you for style, motivation and most iimportantly your ENCOURAGING words. Keep up the good work!!

    Be Blesssed!

  5. Kensie is one of my favorite brands….Love the look!

I definitely grew up with LOTS of street knowledge, but I was very interested in the other ways of the world as well. So although I may seem like I grew up where it wasn't a bit rough….that's not the case. But I love that I am a "tough girl" at heart and can roll with the best of em' 🙂 Great post!
