Don’t let anyone or any situation crush your dreams. I come up with new dreams I want to pursue all the time. When I’m chasing after one of my dreams I put my heart and soul into it so it can manifest.

I remember when I wanted to do real estate, it was when I bought my first house. I started asking my agent questions and next thing you know I was in school and ended up selling a house with him as his assistant. It was completely my deal. Although I finished school I would have sold more homes and went on to take my test if it wasn’t for me letting that agent discourage me. He stole my client and I was hurt. He never paid me. I couldn’t believe I’ve done so much work and here he comes in to take the credit and reap the benefits. I never heard from him again, but believe me his karma caught up with him. I also ran into the client again and I never told her what happened. She even went on to purchase more homes with this agent and I just left it alone. I quit. I was 22 years old then, but still find myself placed in the same situations time and time again.

I will never let anyone get the power over me and ever discourage me to quit ever again. Especially if you know you’ve worked  hard on something, you have to fight for it. I use to think “wow does the evil get rewarded”, but I checked myself. You will get everything that God has in store for you even if it takes a little longer than you planned. You never have to step on anyone or take anything away from anyone, JUST NEVER GIVE UP on faith in YOURSELF!!! What’s meant for you will be yours, but never give someone the power to discourage you from the things you want to do…even if it’s just one of your temporary dreams.

Tip of the day: Consistently remind yourself not to give up…

Discouragement comes so often, i cant choose to sit and wallow everytime it presents itself. I have to allow God to make me better, to become greater. Those obstacles help me succeed!!

  3. Hello Tanya!

You look beautiful and full of light!

I'm here working late and decided to take a break and did my daily check in with your blog. Your message resonates deeply with me. It brought me back to memories of being in High School and after taking a cooking elective, I fell in love with the fact people loved my cooking. That spring I went to a college fair and found out about the CIA (Culinary Institute of America). I got brochures, and put together a little presentation to show my mother. I was thrilled because I found this 4 year university were I could get training by world renowned chefs. Well lets just say that presentation didn't go so well. Her response following my long drawn out speel was, "I'm not paying for that…" I was crushed, there was no convincing her. So off to Howard I went. I initially majored in Hospitality Management. (That was as close as I could get to a kitchen.) Even as an adult I hear people say "Grace, you should really open a restaurant." Commercial Real Estate is a long way from obtaining that goal, but your words just brought me a little closer. It reminded me of my passion and that little seed planted very long ago.

I pray you remain blessed beyond measure!

    XOXO,
    Grace

  7. I REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY needed this. I'm on the verge right now of giving up on something that has brought so much into my life because of naysayers/haters and those I feel are out to get me. You are the vessel through which God wanted me to receive this message today… so I thank you!

  8. I've been in real estate for several years. When I first mentioned that I wanted to get into the industry, several people tried to talk me out of it. It's never too late for you, so if you're still interested, join the ranks! I'm not in your city but I will assist however I can…

BTW, love the photos! Looks like you were having tons of fun shooting these. The shoes and purse are FIRE!!!…

  9. Hi! This is so timely for me. I presented my loungewear line at a fashion show last night an I'm elated! This dream has been in my head for quite a while and I was constantly discouraged. When I was presented the opportunity I said enough is enough and went for it. It was amazing! The audience loved the pieces and I was able to see my ideas become reality- that's priceless. It has given me the courage to continue working on some more ideas.
