I’m over false nails at the moment and gel mani’s are starting to make my nails thin. I started to get a manicure every week, but then my polish would chip after 2-3 days and that would annoy me. It may be date night or I might just get tired of looking at my nails chipped up. I get my pedicure faithfully every two weeks so what’s a girl to do in between time? I’m also a working girl and sometimes I can get off late and that doesn’t always allow to me to stop by the nail salon.
So, I just decided to buy everything I need and do my mani’s myself. I’ve never been more satisfied. Of course I love to get pampered but I feel like when I do my nails, it comes out just as good because I have all the tools. I have mastered the perfect manicure!
First file your nails and soak in soap and water.
Next put cuticle softener on, push cuticle back and cut cuticle and hang nails. Try to do minimal.
Buff nails until smooth. Oil your cuticle then wipe your nail bed with polish remover to make sure you have a clean surface.
Apply Nail Tek first. This will keep your nails stong and make them stronger.
Apply 2 coats of your favorite polish. My current favorite at the moment is borrowed & blue by Essie.
Lastly I use my favorite top coat by Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. It dries your nails quick, makes your nails shiny and locks the color in place. I always need a strong top coat, since I tend to go for chalky colors that are more difficult to dry. I go back in with a nail polish remover stick to clean up my edges (this is the best thing ever) and we are all done!
Enjoy!
