My cousin Erica is an amazing writer. I wish I could have her translate my thoughts when I’m having writers block. The other day we were discussing how weird people can be. How they want to keep you in a box to make themselves feel superior. How they like you if you can do what they want or “follow their rules,” but once you stand up for yourself or no longer conform to what they want it’s a problem and they start to speak ill of you. The first step on getting away from these type people is to first value yourself. That way no one can make you start to believe the things that are being said or make you feel bad about yourself. Second, kindly stay away. Although it may hurt, it’s that simple. Keep it moving.
Here’s what she wrote. It’s so profound I had to share.
A few things I’ve learned about HONESTY…
Don’t expect it. Some just aren’t capable.
Some will base their opinions of you on hearsay. Let em…
Determine what’s real from what’s perceived. Don’t base your acceptance of “the truth” (or lack thereof) on someone else’s perception of YOUR reality.
Some will twist the truth for personal gain. Some do it to feel superior, play the victim, to mask their insecurities, and/or advance in some way. If they’ve done it to others, they’ll do it to you.
What others say about you/do to you has nothing to do with you. Don’t take it personal pray for them all, and move on.

Love this dress!!!! True statement. I’ve had it hard these last couple of months letting my two best friends go because of the same reason. I wrestled with it because we are all saved. And the rules are a little different with your sister in Christ. But Jesus saw me through.
