IMG_5456My baby girl is getting older and those days of me dressing her up has now changed. She has come into her own and it kills me that I can’t pick out her outfits. She’s 10 now so I allow her to pick out her clothing (stuff with my approval of course)  because I want her to develop her own identity. I know many girls that just take on the look of someone else and even though that’s cool to get inspiration, it’s best you be you, take notes from others and jazz it up with your touch.

Here are some of her previous looks. I’ll also link some items I’d love for her to wear. She’s into comfort mostly because she is in a different activity everyday so she’s very active. She has no time for cute boots, tight jeans or stylish tops. It’s been Adidas, leggings, t-shirts and cardigans. Is anyone else going through this. I miss dressing my baby up…IMG_5432 IMG_5205 IMG_5917 IMG_4991 IMG_5111xoxo

  1. Laila is lovely! I have almost 12 year old twin boys and I had to throw my hands up on choosing their clothes 2 years ago. One of them has really great style and puts his clothes together so well. The other one….well, he’s trying, it’s hit and miss with him. LOL

I agree, it’s important to allow the children to responsibly grow into their own style and identity. I lead by example, just like you. Keep it up, super mom!

    1. Awe that must be so much fun with twins!!! It’s funny how kids are all so different and have their own personality. Thanks for chatting with me. xoxo

  2. Ah! Same here! My ten year old (ten and knocking on eleven in May) is going through the same thing… and I am loving/hating it! She has a definite style of her own, (Punky Brewster meets Chic pre-teen) and with the Lord’s help and good rearing, we shall make it through! Peace and Blessings, sis! Great shots of your babygirl.

  3. She is beautiful! I have an 8 year old and she’s approaching that phase of picking out her own clothes……Sometimes she’s like “Mom, No I’m too big for that, that’s for babies” LOL
It’s always interesting to see what she picks, because she has such a bubbly personality.
    Keep up the great work!

  4. Hi Tanya, thank you for sharing this. My daughter is 5 (her name is also Laila 🙂 and she is already into her own style and not agreeing with what I pic all the time and it drives me crazy lol. I’m sure your daughters active lifestyle is playing a large part in her clothing choices, but with such a stylish mother i’m confident its just a phase. Xoxo
