I’ve always paid attention to stylish women to see what they’ve saved on or splurged on. It all boils down to preference. I admire someone that can make a Forever 21 piece look like they bought it from Saks. It makes me excited because it inspires me to think outside the box, save money and just rock whatever it is that you like and not care what anyone has to say about it. It’s obvious that I  love fashion and as I’ve grown I’ve learned that sometimes things are just not worth spending your money on.

SPEND : {Bags}

If you see a nice bag, save up if you have to and buy it. I’ve been collecting bags since I was 17, and although I’ve gotten wiser with my choices, the bags I’ve invested were well worth it. They were durable, many times I was able to resell and most of them have gone up in value. Think about it as an investment and a statement piece. Buy the bag!

Save : {Everyday Dresses}

I love dresses and I like to switch it up. Some days I’ll wear the same dress for to days in a row, (guilty) and other days I just want something cute that I can grab, throw some wedges on with and still look stylish. This allows me to run my errand comfortably, stylishly, and still look and feel like it didn’t take much effort.

If you are going somewhere special like a wedding or a bridal shower splurge.

SPEND : {Shoes}

Ok so when I say spend with shoes I mean anything over $100. Shoes are an investment and I have not learned to choose wisely. I use to spend so much money on shoes and it was like why! Before you buy a shoes ask yourself “will I wear it for the next five years”. You also have to have picture multiple outfits to wear them with. Most times when you splurge on a HOT SHOE you can wear them with anything! But still chose wisely.

Save: {accessories}

Although over the years I’ve gotten some nice pieces of jewelry and demanded them pretty much on every special occasion, I say if you have to buy them for yourself (unless its a timeless pair of diamond earrings or a watch that you’ll have forever) save your money. Trends come in and out and that’s one thing that you can always be trendy with. Right now dainty jewels are in. I love a long plunging necklace falling down into your blouse like I here. I also like this one here. It adds an unexpected touch of  sexy-ness. These necklaces are both under $100.

SPEND: {hair}

So ladies I’m adding hair to fashion because lets face it, your hair completes your entire look right? Don’t be cheap with your hair because it shows. Get that trim every 2 months, get deep conditioned every six weeks, get a cellophane, and the right hair if you chose to add some in. This is just essential to making you feel good about yourself and even wanting to put a fabulous look together. It start’s with the head. Take care of your hair.

Save: {Tops}

You will see me with tops from H&M, F21, Target to little boutiques. Tops are ever changing so we don’t want to spend to much money here. You can always throw a new top on with an old skirt or some classic jeans.

SPEND: {Jeans}

Ok If you have to just buy yourself 2 pairs, I beg you to buy a well fitted pair of designer jeans. Trust me it;s so worth it!! You need them! I even bought two pairs of designer jeans when I was pregnant and switched up my tops from here. Buy the jeans (my favorite place to buy jeans here), get them altered to your body (like I did here) and rock them with anything from a blazer to a tank. They will do your body good.

Save : {Sleepwear}

I constantly love switching out the pajamas I wear and lingerie because I like the unexpected. H&M has the cutest sleepwear here. I also love the one’s from here. The ones from here are so sexy, fun and cute and it’s so affordable. It’s my go to spot especially when I’m going on vacation plus they are always having a sale! Once in a while I’ll splurge here and most of the time he’ll be with me that’s why.

SPEND: {A Signature Scent}

Find one or two for every season and stick to it. Here are some of my favorite in my previous post here.

  1. Hey lady~ you seem to be so genuine. Thank you. You are beautiful inside and out. I absolutely adore your sense of style and taste….Any suggestions for hiding weight. And being top heavy …I love your styles but I don’t know how to wear things to fit my chest. Especially sun dresses. please do suggestion for how to wear certain things for certain body shapes. If u have time. Thanks . Be blessed

  2. Great post. I have learned so much from you and you are STILL one of the best stylists. You’re always classy, feminine, and edgy. Great style!

  3. I love these philosophies! I need to start following the hair one more, lol. I tried to go cheap on my hair for a vacation, and I hate how it looked in pictures! Also, I need to start investing in better shoes. I’m older now and I need shoes that are classic and will last, instead of the newest trendy items.
